SO it turns out one of my best friends is participating in Temeraire's brazilian edition, YAY.

She just got her internship at the publishing house a few weeks ago, and I've been bothering her forever to come to me with more information about when the books are coming out. She said she hadn't heard of them around, but yesterday she texted me with "Oh, Black Powder War was the book in my hands the entire time! It's almosts done, lololol" and I was NOOOOOOO, I shouldn't have ordered it in english, the brazilian edition might reach me faster ;_;

I'm just having so many troubles with this series. I've ordered them through the internet, but the 3rd book will only reach me in march. Just after my order, what do I find in the store? Yeah, the box with the first three books plus a poster. FFFF.

So yeah, despite having every other book in my hands, I'm trying to make Empire of Jade last until march, which is a though job. Maybe if she can smuggle me a copy of the manuscript *g*

I love it so much already!

YES. My boyfriend was pushing me to see anime again, and this time, he managed to hook me on something. Oh, it's just like how YuGiOh felt once (yknow, before the bikes came in), except with less egyptians and moar gay. How could that ever be possible, I know.

People are hating on it already and it's going to be only 13 episodes. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Okay, the cardgame itself is boring. No trap cards?! It's basically luck & who has the better cards. I'd say the main character only won his first fight by luck, but EXODIA, yeah, Yugi didn't escape this either. Yet, in YGO, there are actually strategies involved, instead of hoping you get a healing card in the right time (and the anime was so much better with all their tortoise catapults and flotation rings and no rules whatsoever, but some actual emotion behind the games). Yet, the characters are too cute and the art is prettier. I feel the thrill of loving something so bad, and so not meant for kids my age old people like me. WTF I'm 20, right? I have the right to enjoy things meant to sell cardgames for 8 years old. The cards' design and art is so pretty. I'd collect them…

PLUS, MORIKUBO SHOTARO IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER. YES.

Dear Yuletide Writer,

thank you so much already! I'm sure I'll love your fic - but I know it gets hard to write without knowing anything about my tastes. Here is my letter, I hope it helps!

Likes: Character-based and/or pairing fics, gen, drama, unhappy endings and the occasional dark humor. Action, violence, blood and death are bonuses!
Oh, and those ships I talk about don't need to be romantic: you can play their relationship in the way you best see fit. BUT I'm totally fine with NC-17 and kinks, if IC. I don't oppose to non-con or anything else.

Dislikes: Sappy, romantic, fluffy and happy fanfiction. I don't really dig any couples that are lovey-dovey.

B. R. Collins' THE TRAITOR GAME
Tv Tropes entry

I'd love to see the relationship between the Duke and Columen, specially if it involves Argent as the point of convergence (I loved their gamble on Argent and the insight it gave us on their father/son dynamics). It'd be amazing to understand what Columen thinks of his father or - if you're feeling more adventurous - see the Duke's POV.

Of course, Columen/Argent is delightful - or Duke/Argent, if you're going for something darker. I'd enjoy not having Argent's POV, though. His voice is the one we hear the entire book, I'd like to understand it from someone else's view!

Other ideas I crave for are: how Michael and Francis' new relationship reflects in Evgard (Is Argent dead? What happened to Columen?), how is the Evgard from Francis imagination and, of course, do Francis and Michael end up together?

Artyom's ability of attracting a bunch of stranger guys to him and the lack of female characters me crave slash. I've a special fondness of Hunter/Artyom, because the book makes their first meeting incredibly sexual (Artyom "blushed like a virgin" and "succumbed to Hunter’s strong charms", really?). I'm up for anything, though. Angsty slash with Daniel? Or with the communists… Rusakov is described as 'handsome' every single paragraph.

But uh…
"As soon as someone like Hunter paid him attention and wanted to tell him something, even just asking him to come outside for a minute, to be alone, without his stepfather, he blushed like a virgin and started agonizing, bleating like a lamb..."
I really like the idea Hunter/Artyom!

I'll just ask you to keep the atmosphere of the book: fear, depression, lack of hope and, of course, lots of mention of the post-apocalyptic order. I love how the Moscow Metro operates: the lines, the fight between the many groups, the troubles they constantly face. Mentions to guns, bullets and the fear crawling through the passages is a-ok! If gen, I'd like to see the Metro as a character itself! (Not anthropomorphic, just… I'd like to read about how it works)

Karin Lowachee's WARCHILD
Tv Tropes entry :: Wiki entry :: Author's website

Same as past yuletide: unless the story is about the Jets, I won't really like comedy (the usual snarky comment from Dorr or Ryan is ok). I like the banter between them, really! Ryan, Sid, Evan and Dorr make up the kind of fun I'd like to join in!

My favorite relationship is the one between Niko and Jos. It doesn't have to be seen in a romantic way and I understand Jos as too damaged to get into a relationship so soon, but their trust is amazing. Jos openly says he loves Niko (and it doesn't have to be in a romantic way, but I like to think of it as such!) and he's the only one allowed to touch him. Niko, on his turn, is way more emotional near Jos than he should be.

I specially like the scene where Niko leaves Jos behind to get trained by Ash… And I like how cruel Ash is interpreting their relationship.

(OBS: Estienne's relationship with Yuri hit a very sensitive point with me. It's okay if you mention it on the passing for characterization purposes, but I won't like to read about it.)

Shibata Ami's PAPUWA
Wiki entry

Now you can forget all I said about angst and drama. Papuwa is a very cracktastic anime… While I don't require anything funny, I wouldn't deny it! Of course, if you manage to write drama for that series, it's ok.

Liquid is pretty much my favorite character and I love his role in the series. Yes, I like all the abuse he suffers. I'd really like if you write about his time in the Special Battle Unit or… well, something equally painful. Oh, I like pairings! I prefer Special Battle Unit/Liquid (specially Harlem/Liquid), but I think that Toshi/Liquid is also interesting… And if you can fit her in, I'd like Umako and her hilarious way of misinterpreting scenes to appear!

Can anyone name a cool book - preferably YA, male MC, lots of action and adventure - with potential slash and a FANDOM?

Appreciated. I fail at that 'fandom' part *mourns the nonexistence of a Metro 2033 fandom*

I know, I never update, right? Truth is, I'm having fun with my sockpuppet =,D

Some RL news: I'm dropping out of college. After three long years I finally had the courage to give up law… Tough decision, but it just wasn't my thing. I figure out I have two options now: either I major in english or I go for programming. Well, I won't be saving aynone from a guilty veredict, but either my grammar improves, or I get stuck in a really nerdy job.

Have you tried sticking it up your arse?

Which should be a 100000x better than law anyways. Seriously, if I can warn you of something, it's to never, ever think of going into law. courtroom dramas are a lie

BUT TO THE FUN NEWS~
I'm adding two new couples to the list of pairings with uncanny similarities that I happen to like…

I'd also like to mention that I never played RE in my life, but I, uh, watched the movies. Sue me - I'm horrible at games where you have to shoot at things, specially when you also have save points and limited ammo. Well, actually, I'm bad at any game that doesn't involve puzzles and top hats. So anyway, I was watching Afterlife, and I was in utter fangirl joy, gushing at my boyfriend at how Alice and Claire were perfect and ohmigushhhhhhh, their poses and fights, and how the lesyay between them was SHOWING SO BAD. But I was mostly gushing about the movie in general, because despite all the bullshit the hardcore game fans claim, the scenes are that awesome in 3D.

So anyway, that guy from Prison Break and a hotass blond in a black trenchcoat and sunglasses show in the same frame eventually. COULD I RESIST? NO. Don't blame me, it's the movie's fault for being so incredibly… er… Yeah, zombies, gore, fighting and hot chicks with guns make me feel… special. By the point Wesker and Chris were in the same frame together, I was feeling a little faint already, so… Anyways, eventually I discover they do have some story in canon and their foeyay is INYOURFACE and and THEY'RE JUST MY KIND OF SHIP. So yeah.

and

PLEASE DON'T JUDGE ME. IT'S SUPERNATURAL AND IT DOES WEIRD THINGS TO GOOD PEOPLE. It's also JDM aka The Comedian, who also does weird things to perfectly sane people. Okay, this is far from my usual, but… YEAH. ERM.

Today I was lazing around, eating those extra delicious banana pancakes and watching Glee on Fox when the commercials started. One had this hot guy, with blue eyes, and plenty of women around… The narrator's voice announced - "He hass all the women around his fingers", but a slash fan sixth sense never fails.

Today, I discovered White Collar.

I know, I pretty much gave up on anime fandom. Slash is more my thing - no bishounen with their maidenly honor and such. So now I'm into the first episode of White Collar with those two goregous men eyeing each other like it was no tomorrow, and there's this tension between and-

Bondage. Seriously, bondage.

The image speaks for itself.

This is AMAZING. My cooking is usually meh, but I tried cooking a vegan burger with things I had home and it ended up SO TASTY I couldn't believe.

Okay, I'm shit with measures, and I did this eyeing the portions. So, there're 3 main ingredients - rice, carrot and paris mushrooms. Their proportion should be 2:1:1. So if you use 2 cups or rice, you should use 1 of carrot and 1 of mushrooms. Now we can go!

Cooking the Rice
I used remains, but my rice is kinda different. I usually cook 1 and a half cup with 3 cardamom seeds (which I remove when it's done), half a cup of raisins, and cumin.

Ingredients
(for 3 burgers)

1/2 carrot, grated
Chopped paris mushrooms
Cooked rice (remember the proportions!)
2 garlic cloves
1 soup spoon onion
1 tea spoon lemon
Parsley leaves, dried parsley, rosemary and black pepper at will. I also added a prepared mix of spices I had home, you can pick your own to use.

Mix everything in a blender! Take it out and add as much as flour as you need to make it not to fall into pieces. Wrap it in plastic and take it to the freezer for 15 minutes.

Make 3 burgers out of it. Cover them in breadcrumbs and take them to the oven, until the breadcrumbs get brown.

Cover them in breadcrumbs once more. Pour olive oil in a frying pan and let it get warm. Fry the burgers.

Voila! Eat them with black mustard, it's delicious.

Sooo yesterday I was at the boyfriend's home and we decided to watch Darren Shan Cirque du Freak. You can imagine the result.

What was good:
Homoeroticism turned up to eleven.

What was bad:
Pretty much everything else.

I simply hate moves where the plot goes nowhere. And the spoilers? Yeah, thank you very much for revealing every marvelous plot twist 5 seconds into the movie. But I won't spend my time bashing that piece of garbage movie. At least it did some good <3 And they kept the relationship between Steve and Darren super cute. Some of the lines? The "secret best friend" thing? Cause Darren's parents couldn't know they were ~*special*~ friends, hanging together? So Steve was super angry, cause their ~*relationship*~ had to be kept a secret? It was like OMG Darren, get out of the fucking closet already. Plus, even when Larten Crepsley looked to much like John C. Reilly wait-, some of his lines to Darren were sexy as hell. We had seen The Sorcerer's Apprentice before and before getting asleep (another bad movie, blergh), I caught the inamous "I'm your master" line. Yeah, it was pretty much into that level. And even John C. Reilly can look sexy when menacingly standing covered in shadows in the bg.

As you can see, my love for the series has been rekindled! Which is very good, since I discovered Mr. Shan is publishing books about Larten Crepsley next.

*MOMENT OF EXTREME FANGIRL JOY*

*late to the party* Omg, his story? That cover? He's TOTALLY a woobie. I wanna hug him and pat him, and… and… Seba/Larten… Must. Resist. Urge. To. Ship. I already outdid myself writing that awful, awful Larten/Darren porn, which I thankfully deleted from the internet. =D'

Can't wait til Xmas… *clicks on the preorder button like crazy*
